BFI Player: Film clubs

Host your own film clubs with subscriptions to our award-winning streaming service.

BFI Player Film Clubs

Film clubs

BFI Player is our online video on demand subscription service giving access to classic, cult and world cinema at the click of a button.

Our Film Clubs can help employers and educators raise awareness and improve understanding about complex subject matters such as inclusion and mental health. Read 3 reasons why film is a powerful tool for work and welfare initiatives.

They can also be a fantastic staff or member benefit. It’s easy to find films, themes and discussions with BFI Player’s curated collections. Some examples are:

3 You Must See

Three of the best, whether by theme or by the world’s greatest filmmakers and cinematic movements.

Comedy Genius

Celebrating a world of side-splitting cinema, from slapstick legends to today’s anarchic voices.

BFI Flare LGBTQIA+

From landmark LGBTQIA+ films to the next generation of queer classics.

Black Stories

Showcasing the best of Black culture in film and TV history.

Woman with a Movie Camera

Inspirational and diverse works of great cinema; all originating from women with a movie camera.

Film club subscriptions

We have two subscription models:

Hosted by you

By allocating annual subscriptions to your staff or clients, they can watch a film online in their own time before joining an in-person or online discussion that you’ve arranged.

Programmed and presented by the BFI

As the lead organisation for film, TV and the moving image in the UK, we can use our expertise to suggest powerful cinema available on BFI Player, tailored to the values and interests of your organisation or film club.

We can provide toolkits to help with discussions and can draw on our network of experts, film critics and filmmakers to explore hosts or special guests for online discussions.

Our film clubs can be delivered as one-time or regular events, and can be programmed around awareness days, such as International Women’s Day, Black History Month and Mental Health Awareness Month.
