BFI Film Academy Residential Programme

Applications for BFI Film Academy Craft Skills residential are now open!

Residential courses last between one and two weeks and are designed to develop more specialist filmmaking skills. You will work closely with leading industry professionals who will give you a unique insight into the filmmaking business and guide you along the way.

Masterclasses by key industry figures are integral to this programme, as are hands-on skills training and bespoke careers advice. Each course will offer a combination of workshops, practical skills lessons and lectures.

The residential is a great, one-off opportunity to help you into the film industry.

Residential courses

Course fee

We welcome applications from talented young filmmakers from all backgrounds. The Course Fee ranges from £0 to £210 for the residential programme, which includes your accommodation and food for the duration of the residential.

Please don’t let the cost of the residential courses deter you from applying. If a young person is offered a place on the Film Academy and can’t afford the Course Fee or other associated costs, our bursary scheme can help them — if you have the talent we will make sure you can attend.
