Film Academy passes

Film Academy passes are for young people (aged 18 to 25 years) interested in a career in the screen industries.

We invite all young people (aged 18 to 25 years) interested in a career in the screen industries to apply for a BFI Film Academy pass. Over 25-year-olds in full-time education and in possession of a valid student ID can also apply for a pass.

BFI Film Academy passes provide access to:

  • press and industry screenings during festival dates of 4 to 15 October
  • the BFI Film Academy programme of industry and networking events
  • panels and talks included in the LFF industry programme
  • public weekday matinee screenings via a rush queue, and subject to availability

Film Academy passes for the 2023 BFI London Film Festival are now sold out. Please keep an eye on the BFI Film Academy social channels for any updates on returns and further opportunities.

Accreditation process

Individuals will need to provide proof of concession at the delegate services desk in order to receive their festival pass.

We require proof of age for those under 25, and proof of enrolment in a relevant course or centre of learning for those over 25.

All passes are paperless and provide access to the dedicated LFF industry website, including FAQs, programme guidance and schedule, and delegate directory.

The delegate service desk will be located at BFI Southbank from 25 September to 1 October and then at the Picturehouse Central from 2 to 15 October.

Through accreditation and attending you agree to abide by the BFI London Film Festival terms and conditions. Any violation of these will result in the immediate withdrawal of the accreditation.
