Synopsis

Five MPs reconstruct the way in which a Select Committee of the House of Commons would conduct an enquiry. The subject chosen is the efficiency of MPs within the House in passing laws and keeping a check on government spending.

Participants include: Sir William Armstrong (Head of the Home Civil Service); Frank Allen (Clerk in the Committee Office, House of Commons); Michael Ryle (Clerk in the Public Bills Office, House of Commons); Dennis Lawrence (Under-Secretary, Ministry of Posts and Communications); J.A.G.
