Synopsis

The story of the Neapolitan rising against the Spaniards in July 1647 led by the fisherman Masaniello, whose dumb sister, Fenella, has been betrayed by the son of the Spanish Viceroy. Based on Auber's opera `Masaniello, ou la Muette de Portici'. Produced by the Smalleys, i.e. Lois Weber and Phillips Smalley.
