Traces the development of reed instruments from those played by the saracens tofrighten the Crusaders' horses to the 17th century foreunners of today's orchestral instruments. Includes music played by the Early Music consort of London.: Andrew Van Der Beek, Oliver Brookes, David Corkhill (percussion), Christopher Hogwood (keyboards), Alan Lumsden, John Turner, James Tyler and David Pugsley.
