Describes the approach to the teaching of structure and bonding taken in the Nuffield Advanced Chemistry Course. Outlines a way of illustrating the principles of X-ray diffraction. Electron density diagrams are used to help describe ionic and covalent bonding and finally the film shows a way of introducing the hydrogen bond experimentally.
