Synopsis

Records the last firing of a huge traditional 16th century pottery kiln in Puisaye, in Central France. Three contrasting workshops in the area are observed: a family pottery headed by André Nault, last of the big ware throwers in the country; a studio potter, Martine Rouillard, representing a contemporary and more aesthetically minded generation; and the Enterprise Normand factory where the traditional ways are being adapted to modern technology and demands.
