SHORT FILM. A young cart-driver in Dakar is robbed and cheated by a succession of dishonest passengers, and ends up having his cart confiscated by the police, losing with it not only his means of livelihood but his sole claim to self-respect in an exploited and poverty-ridden community. The film is set in post-independence Senegal. The narrative is garnished with the voice-over of Sembene himself.

NOTE: This film is considered to be the first film made in Africa by a black African.
