Synopsis

Experiment explained with animation and diagrams. Shows what happens when two electrodes in a glass tube have a high voltage applied to them. Shows deflection of cathode rays by magnetic or electrostatic fields, ionisation by collision, breadkdown voltage and excitation of the atom by free electrons.
