JAPAN ON THE CROSS - FAREWELL TO THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS (1987)

Film details

Synopsis

Documentary series from Japan about the modern history of the country. When the Japanese began their occupation of Manchuria in the thirties, the League of Nations set up a commission to examine the circumstances. The commission's report led to Japan withdrawing from the League, a crucial step into isolation and the growing influence of the military - two factors which can now be seen as contributing to Japan's movement towards war.
