A profile of the British painter Francis Bacon (1909-1992), who took as his main subject distorted human figures that sit or lie alone in empty rooms. Follows Bacon from his cluttered studio where he began work at dawn, to his favourite drinking club and gambling joint in London's Soho, exploring how his way of life affected his vision of the world.
