Explores how one particular rape victim came to terms with and overcame the trauma involved in rape. Jill Saward was at home with her father, Michael, the vicar of Ealing, and her boyfriend, when the doorbell rang. Three men entered and subjected her, at knife-point, to a terrifyingly brutal rape. The experience shattered her happy, balanced life. The men responsible for the attack received relatively light sentences. Jill Saward talks about the trauma many survivors of rape experience, the ordeal of the medical examination and of appearing before your attackers in court. She also discusses the inadequacies of the British legal system and the lack of understanding many survivors face.
