Film looking at Wiza, who lives in the backstreets of Cairo with her two adult children and who talks about marriage, her own experiences and her wish and attempts to see her two children married as soon as possible. She talks bitterly about her husband, who has deserted them, and the nature of relationships between men and women, husband and wife, and the problems of finding good marriage partners due to overcrowding and unemployment, since the husband traditionally has to provide a gift of gold and somewhere to live.
