Tomorrow's World in Berlin (1991)

Film details

Synopsis

Special TOMORROW'S WORLD programme exploring how science from the East and West is coping with the legacy of division in Germany, and helping reunited Berliners in their quest for the bet of both worlds. It visits the Potsdamer Platz, and the rennovation plans for the area and the old underground station. It also considers the problem of rubbish dumps in East Gemany, many of them hiding hazardous or toxic chemicals, waste and heavy metals, and their locations never documented under the Communist regime. On the other hand, it looks at how reunification has caused a useful recycling of waste programme and factory that existed in the East to close down.
