An examination of the internal conflicts which have blighted Africa, focusing on the different responses by the international community to two wars on opposite sides of the continent - the United Nation's intervention in somalia and the West African peace-keeping force (ECOMOG) in Liberia. The question is asked whether the continent should set up its own pan-African peace-keeping force.
