Synopsis

Film based on the true story of events in the life of the African American civil rights activist Medgar Evers who was murdered in 1963 by a Ku Klux Klan member Byron de la Beckwith. Acquitted of the crime, his killer was eventually brought to justice thirty years later when Evers' widow Myrlie re-opened the case. She employed a white lawyer who successfully prosecuted Byron de la Beckwith, resulting in his being convicted of murder in February 1994.
