Synopsis

Follows Faisal Abdu`Allah as he works on a new commission `Reservoir of Gods' for the Chiltern Sculpture Park. This work, in keeping with most of his screen prints and photographic installations, concentrates on challenging stereotypical images of black males. Abdu`Allah, born Paul Dufus converted to Islam in 1990 following a visit to the United States. He draws inspiration for his work from the community in his home territory of Harlesden, in north west London and keeps in touch by working in a local barber's shop, which is where he met rap group, The Scientists of Sound, who feature in the photographic series `I want to kill Sam'.
