Synopsis

A video-based resource pack which aims to make dance inspiring for young people and to provide non-specialist and specialist dance teachers with the means to achieve this. Includes four 30-minute `Sportsbank special: Dance TV' programmes, one 30-minute `Teaching today: Dance' INSET programme, a 32-page booklet of teacher's notes (also available separately) written by dance writer Dr Jacqueline Smith-Autard, and an audio CD of specially-selected music. The four `Dance TV' programmes are: Dance athletes; Street dance; Dance rhythms; Partner dance. They include profiles of young dancers, professional dance pieces, and stopping points to allow for class discussion, evaluation and participation. The INSET programme provides a guide to planning, delivering and evaluating the dance curriculum.
