Company Man (2000)

Film details

Comedy. At the beginning of the sixties, mild-mannered Allen Quimp is living a quiet life as a grammar school teacher in Connecticut. However, Quimp's wife Daisy aspires to the high life and bullies her husband into applying for a highly-paid job in Manhattan. Quimp discovers by chance that his new position is actually a front for a job with the CIA. A touring Russian dancer defects directly to Quimp; he is subsequently sent to work in Cuba, having been told that his predecessor was mad enough to believe the island is on the brink of revolution. Before long Quimp is caught up in the Bay of Pigs fiasco when another agent, Johnson, turns up, intent on catching up with Fidel Castro, who has just seized power.
