Synopsis

Documentary. A film by director Errol Morris which focuses on `egghead' inventor Fred Leuchter, designer of electric chairs and lethal injection systems, among other things. The documentary takes a look at Leuchter's tests, at the invitation of Ernst Zundel, a neo-Nazi being prosecuted in Canada for his denial claims regarding the Holocaust, on the walls of concentration camps in an attempt to prove that poison gas was not in fact ever used. When Leuchter comes to the conclusion that indeed no gas was used, as Zundel claims, he comes under attack from Jewish groups and is divorced by his wife; gradually the documentary shows that Leuchter has come round to the `revisionist' way of thinking.
