How to Kill Your Neighbor's Dog (2000)

Film details

Synopsis

Comedy drama. Peter McGowen is a British playwright living in Los Angeles. Once one of the brightest stars of the theatre, he has become cynical and jaded, following a string of theatrical failures. His wife, Melanie, is keen to have a child, but Peter is against the idea, given his fading career and the difficulty of caring for Melanie's mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. In addition there is the neighbour's dog to cope with, which never stops barking. When Peter befriends a young girl, Amy, slightly affected by cerebral palsy, using her as a model for a character in a new play that he hopes will set him back on track, he becomes less hardened to the idea of a baby in the family.
