Film details


A three-part unit of programmes focusing on popular and widely read poets. Offers visual readings of poems intended to encourage interpretation and response, and a sense of the poet as a person, and shows how the language and form of the poems conveys meaning. The programmes are: `William Blacke' presented by Nigel Planer and Liz Lochhead, looks at William Blake as a visionary, a radical and a poet; `Grace Nichols' Grace Nichols returns to Guyana to answer questions central to the understanding of her poetry; `Seamus Heaney' John Hegley goes on a journey to discover the meaning of Heaney's poetry through his own urban landscape.
