Synopsis

Sixty-five year-old, widower, Alloune, has spent most of his years working as a guide in Senegal's Museum of Slavery. When he retires he decides to go the US and seek out his ancestry. But once there, he finds the divisions between Africans and African-Americans are every bit as deep those between other races. However, a relationship with an African-American woman of his own age brings a deeper understanding.
