"She had two identity cards in the hotel that night. She showed the wrong one. Both were false. Being identified is both ritual and illusion." Commissioned by the Arts Council, Y is based upon archival research in the Imperial War Museum on collaboration during the German occupation of France,19940-44, and in the Archives Departmentales on the Line of Demarcation between occupied France and Vichy France, 1942-44, as well as interviews from two members of the Resistance who acted as passeurs and couriers.
