Synopsis

Documentary showing the relationship between Jamaica and the International Monetary Fund since 1975 when the country first took out a loan from the organisation. Farmers, workers and managers demonstrate a full understanding of the economic damage inflicted by the IMF - Jamaican onion farmers displaced from their own local markets by imported goods from the US, the destruction of thousands of gallons of fresh milk to make way for powdered-milk imports, the US-sponsored threat to Jamaica's food security by potato imports, and the US threat to Jamaica's valuable European markets for bananas.
