After 44 days and nights without food, endurance artist and magician David Blaine emerged from his self-imposed prison by London's Tower Bridge. This programme revisits the build-up to Blaine's exit from his plexi-glass box before his team pulls him out of solitary confinement and back into the outside world. Cameras follow him to hospital and witness his first few hours after leaving his self-imposed prison. Just how did he survive his most gruelling challenge yet - over six weeks of British weather and a whirlwind of incidents, opinions and speculations? What kept him going during his personal journey on a very public stage? With new reflective narration from Blaine, the programme tells the whole Above the Below story from beginning to end, including unseen footage of his recovery in hospital as he undergoes medical tests and receives visits from close friends.
