Pastiche thriller. In New York in the fall of 2007, film director Martin Scorsese reveals his plans to shoot an unmade Alfred Hitchock project named 'The Key to Reserva', of which only three pages of the screenplay survive (and one page is missing from this remaining sequence). In the film a man attends a concert and during the performance tries to unscrew a lightbulb on the ceiling of his box - the bulb contains a key. The man is spotted from the stage by a violinist who leaves the performance and tries to murder him. A struggle ensues and the violinist falls to his death. The man crushes the lightbulb, retrieves the key and opens a beautiful wooden box to find a bottle of Freixenet Carta Nevada Reserva sparkling wine. Scorsese and his editor Thelma Schoonmaker wonder what would have happened next. Scorsese did however film the last page of the screenplay: As the villains are arrested, the man shares a glass of the wine with a beautiful blonde woman who had been in the audience during the performance. Scorsese hopes he has done Hitchcock proud, unaware that many hundreds of birds are gathering outside his building...
