Parental Guidance (2012)

Film details

Synopsis

Comedy. An overprotective couple who want to take a trip reluctantly allow the mother's parents to look after their three children. The grandparents' child-rearing methods are down-to-earth and at odds with the couple's modern ways (including never giving them sugar, and never saying "don't" to them). The situation is further complicated by the family's house being a prototype design where everything (from the front door to the oven and television) is run by computers which 'speak' to the occupants. Despite many confrontations and ill-advised activities, and with some tough love and simple family fun, the children begin to respond to the grandparents' old-fashioned ways and deeper bonds are forged between everyone.
