Event details

This interactive event uses feature film clips and films from the BFI National Archive, such as newsreels and government information films, which show wartime life on the Home Front on subjects such as: the Blitz, ‘digging for victory’, rationing, evacuation, Windrush and the impacts of WW2. Pupils will be encouraged to discuss the challenges faced during this time and take part in drama activities to design their own ‘Dig for Victory’ campaign advert on the BFI stage in front of their peers.

The event concludes with a screening of Goodnight Mister Tom (1998), a moving story about an evacuee during the Blitz.
