10:30am to 3pm, 22 February, in-venue at BFI Southbank

This interactive event uses feature film clips and films from the BFI National Archive, such as newsreels and government information films, which show wartime life on the Home Front on subjects such as: the Blitz, ‘growing your own’, ‘digging for victory’, rationing and evacuation. Pupils will be encouraged to discuss the challenges faced during this time and take part in fun drama activities around the individual experience of being a wartime evacuee.

The event concludes with a screening of Goodnight Mister Tom (1998), a moving story about an evacuee during the Blitz.
