This study day is aimed at helping KS5 German students build their cultural capital, expand their vocabulary and improve their critical film analysis skills by exploring key themes and styles in contemporary German cinema.

Linked to AQA, Edexcel and Eduqas A Level specifications and touching on set texts Goodbye, Lenin! (2003), The Lives of Others (2007) as well as other contemporary German titles, the day will focus on the legacy of East Germany with and through film. Conducted mainly in German, the morning will consist of a clip-based presentation introducing the theme, teaching film-specific vocabulary in German and analysing key scenes with activities aimed at supporting students in building on their critical film analysis skills. In the afternoon there will be an introduced screening of Goodbye, Lenin!

Prices

The study day costs £12.50 per student.

Accompanying teachers and adults cost £10 each, unless there are five students (or over), then it costs £1 per five students.

Teachers attending without students cost £40.

If your school has over 20% of students getting free school meals, you should ask about a discount when you book.
