Date: 28 April 2026
Time: 10:30am to 12:30pm
Location: BFI Southbank
Event details
Through film clips, discussion and drama activities, we will dive into the world of Roald Dahl. We will explore three of his biggest stories: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG and Matilda.
Pupils will be challenged to write like Dahl, describing giants and analysing his text in comparison to extracts from the film. We will explore how Dahl develops character and make connections between the protagonists in his three most popular films.
The event is highly interactive and includes a combination of watching film clips, discussion in pairs/small groups and across the whole auditorium using microphones, writing and answering questions in a study pack and drama activities.
