Event details

In this interactive event pupils will need to become detectives and apply their mathematical skills to solve a mystery. Nemo, the clown fish has gone missing again and must be found! To find him, they will journey through the world of film solving puzzles and problems along the way.

This event is a great way to celebrate Maths Week England 2025!

Can they read the train timetable with Harry Potter to get on the Hogwarts Express in time? Can they calculate if they will be too heavy to swing through the air with Spiderman? Can they use co-ordinates to map Nemo’s location and find their way out of the silent film era?!

This event will touch on the following areas of Maths (although it is an accessible event so pupils won’t feel left out if they haven’t covered these topics yet- they can provide a great introduction to an area or act as a revision tool):

Number; Fractions; Word Problems; Averages; Roman Numerals; Angles; Geometry; Reading graphs; Measurements; Probability; Co-ordinates
