Event details
Join us at the BFI Southbank to celebrate the French New Wave as part of the BFI’s Nouvelle Vague season, with this one-off, exclusive KS5 event for schools exploring the themes and film language of Francois Truffaut’s The 400 Blows (1959).
Designed around both French and Film Studies A Level curriculums, this 90-minute workshop will explore themes and topics prevalent in the KS5 specifications for both subjects.
The workshop involves an interactive, clip-based introduction to the Nouvelle Vague: its style, themes, and key players, with a deep dive into Truffaut’s landmark film.
The session will be followed by an optional screening of The 400 Blows in NFT1 at 18:00.
