UK Global Screen Fund events

The next BFI International town hall meeting will take place on Wednesday 14 October, led by Denitsa Yordanova, Director of UK Global Screen Fund and International Funds. The meeting will be open to all industry and will offer an update from the team on the BFI’s international activity and funding opportunities, including the BFI International Connections Fund, UK Focus Fund and the British Council’s Film Travel Grant Fund, all of which award BFI National Lottery funding. Additionally, the meeting will cover the latest from the UK Global Screen Fund, including recent awards and activity, plus a look ahead to what’s next across each of the new-expanded UKGSF’s open access strands.

The International Co-production funding strand is open for applications, closing 27 October for Fast Track and 24 November 2026 for General Track. The UK Global Screen Fund team will discuss the application process, eligibility, and assessment.

Saturday 10 October 2026 | Central London

The BFI London Film Festival, in partnership with the UK Global Screen Fund, is inviting applications from UK producers to attend a lunch during this year’s festival.

The lunch will take place in central London on Saturday 10 October, 12:30pm to 3:30pm, and will bring together UK and international producers.

Applicants must have at least one personal lead producer credit on a feature film or TV production that has had commercial distribution in the UK or internationally and demonstrate a strong interest in and experience of international co-production.

LFF accreditation is not required for this event and will not be provided for selected producers. Producers will need to make their own travel arrangements to and from the event, and travel costs cannot be reimbursed.

Thursday 24 to Friday 25 September I 2026 Newcastle

The UK Global Screen Fund organised a two-day participatory workshop in Newcastle for feature film and TV producers who have at least one producer credit within the last five years, and are residing and working in the UK. The workshop consisted of panels, talks, and workshops on co-production with a range of both UK-based and international experts and producers.

The workshop took place in Newcastle on 24 and 25 September. Overnight accommodation was provided and a travel bursary was available for participants who require financial assistance. Applications are now closed.

The UK Global Screen Fund invited applications for its 2026 International Business Development Strategy Days.

This two-day in-person participatory event was for UK-based screen company founders across film, TV, video games, and animation and was designed to focus on building a successful international growth strategy with the goal of increased revenue generation and international expansion. The programme consisted of panels, talks and workshops delivered by a range of industry experts.

Sessions included:

· international opportunities

· international strategies

· UK Global Screen Fund awards case studies

· international business development application finances workshop

The International Business Development strand of the UK Global Screen Fund offers funding of £50,000 to £200,000 to support business strategies focused on the creation/acquisition/exploitation of IP for screen. The workshop was targeted at companies which had not received International Business Development funding before, including companies which may have applied previously and were not successful, or those who applied in the current 2026 round.

The Strategy Days took place in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne on 21 to 22 of July. Overnight accommodation was provided and a travel bursary was available.
