Applications to join the YAA 2022 UK jury have now closed. You can still explore the YAA website and watch the YAA 2022 Awards Ceremony online Saturday 13 November. We will be recruiting for next year’s YAA UK jury from September 2023.

This is a free event taking part online or in person at BFI Southbank.

Aged 12-14 and love film? Join us as a UK youth juror for this amazing annual event when young people in 42 countries worldwide watch the same three new European feature films and decide their winner.

The European Film Academy’s Young Audience Award takes place online and in local cinemas around the world. In the UK, if you’re aged 12 to 14, we welcome you to join us online wherever you live and whenever suits you, or if you’re in or near London we have limited capacity for jurors to join us in person at the cinema.

What do you need to do?

  1. Find out more about this year’s nominated films and the Young Audience Award.
  2. Fill in the YAA Jury application form by Monday 24 October 6PM and we’ll email you full details.
  3. Watch the 3 nominated films. They’ll be available on a secure streaming platform for five days, Monday 7 to Friday 11 November, or we have capacity for some jurors to join us at BFI Southbank on Saturday 12 November 9:30AM to 5PM to watch them on the big screen and discuss your ideas in person.
  4. Vote online for your favourite on Sunday 13 November, 7AM to 6PM.

Optional extras

Meet the other UK jurors and jurors from around the world. There will be opportunities to discuss your ideas about the films online in secure sessions hosted by BFI Education and the YAA team.

Ask the director and young actors a question. Email us your questions in advance and join the live online Q&As before the EFA Young Audience Award Ceremony on Sunday 13 November.
