Film: a language without borders

Resources to support this international project on cinema for refugee groups in school.

Jemima + Johnny (1966)

Film: a language without borders was a programme funded by Creative Europe, in Germany, Denmark, and the UK. The Danish Film Institute, Vision Kino in Germany, and BFI, developed resources for seven feature films, and three short films, that each explored the experience of children arriving in an unfamiliar place, or otherwise having an experience of being different. Throughout 2018, cinemas in the three countries showed the films, contextualised by talks and discussion. The final project reports and downloadable teaching resources are available below.
