Each year between September and December, a cohort of selected participants between the age of 16 to 19 are trained by industry and education professionals to produce short films. This intensive programme includes hands-on filmmaking workshops, masterclasses with filmmakers, plus free access to screenings at the BFI London Film Festival and monthly BFI Future Film events. Participants are also actively involved in the exhibition and distribution of their work and have the opportunity to gain the newly launched NCFE ‘Preparing to Work in the Film Industry’ accreditation.
Our participants will work in small teams to produce short films on the theme of the BFI autumn season, which in 2019 will be Musicals.
Most sessions will run on Wednesday evenings between 6-8pm, some Saturdays and throughout half term, 21-25 October 2019, at BFI Southbank and other locations. Please see our timetable via the PDF below to check the precise session times and dates.
