Championing immersive storytelling

Funding opportunities at the BFI.

Left to right: Baff Akoto, Ben Luxford, Mia Bays, Luke Moody and Soph Crockett.
  • Date: Wednesday 15 October
  • Venue: Southbank Centre, Purcell Room

The directors of three BFI funds will guide us through the scope of their funds and the options available to producers and artists working with immersive media. The conversation will highlight the underlying strategy, putting forward its objectives and the way in which the funds address both the talent and the audience.

To set the scene, two creatives will share their experience of being funded by the BFI: award-winning filmmaker and artist Baff Akoto, whose work was supported to create Collateral Echoes, an ambitious immersive installation blending XR, archival material and sound design; and producer Soph Crockett from Crossover Labs, whose immersive Fictions Lab helped fostering the collaboration between artists and technology experts.
