What’s new at the 2023 Industry Forum?

Find out what’s new for press and industry this year.

We welcome industry and press to the Industry Forum at the BFI London Film Festival which has some new features and offers this year.

The Industry Forum at the BFI London Film Festival brings together a number of activities under one umbrella, including:

  • press and industry screenings
  • talks and discussion events
  • networking activities
  • hospitality spaces and events

Many of these activities will be familiar to regular festival delegates, but if you have any queries about the 2023 festival offer please email delegateservices@bfi.org.uk.

Pass names

We have two types of pass available for both press and industry, with the names updated from ‘Silver’ and ‘Bronze’ to more accurately reflect the offer. Our newly named passes are:

  • Industry
  • Industry+
  • Press
  • Press+Industry

All passes are available from 7 August 2023. Access to screenings and events remains the same as previous years.

Hospitality and networking

Industry parties will return in 2023. We will also be introducing industry speed-dating for the first time, prior to our Industry Happy Hours, to encourage networking and socialising. These will be open to all industry delegates. Further details will be announced in August.

Delegates app

Following great feedback on our new online delegate registration last year, we are excited to introduce a festival app in 2023 to improve the delegate experience, which will contain:

  • delegate pass
  • screening and event schedules
  • networking features

You will be able to access all delegate information via browser or app.  We welcome feedback on functionality, and will continue to develop mobile access to our schedules and events.

Press and Press+Industry passes

The BFI LFF Press Pass remains the same as previous years, and offers access to all Press & Industry screenings. As in previous years, accredited press will be eligible to request tickets to talks, evening and weekend screenings, via the delegate micro-site.

We have tried to keep the price of the Press pass as low as possible, making an increase this year of £2. As always we encourage and welcome all press and media to apply, and they will be accredited if they meet our criteria.

In response to feedback last year from accredited press keen to access events which have previously been open to industry delegates only, we have introduced an additional option for 2023 – a Press+Industry pass.

This pass will offer access to events targeted towards industry delegates in the Industry Forum, and mirrors the benefits of the Industry+ pass.

It will offer additional access to:

  • industry events (including delegate socials, parties and industry speed-dating, networking events and hospitality)
  • additional rush queue for public screenings with availability (evenings and weekends as well as matinees)
  • discounted tickets for LFF Expanded and LFF Screen Talks

There are a limited number of Press+Industry passes available.

Press and industry screenings

To make it easier for press and industry travelling to attend the pre-festival screenings we are condensing the screening schedule for 2023.

Pre-festival screenings will start at BFI Southbank on 25 September and continue at Picturehouse Central from 2 to 3 October.  We will retain the same capacity, and the same number of titles in the programme.

Gala films will screen at Picturehouse Central this year in Screens 1 and 2 from 4 to 11 October and 15 October, and Odeon Luxe Leicester Square from 12 to 14 October.
