In 2018 BFI and BAFTA developed and published principles to tackle and prevent bullying and harassment in the screen industries. An industry first, created in response to urgent and systemic issues, they were developed in consultation with organisations across the screen sector, including guilds, unions, industry member bodies and key agencies as well as employees and freelancers across all roles. A number of high-profile industry names, including actors Emma Watson and Ruth Wilson, supported the publication of principles, which were adopted across the sector.
