Chasing the Light: Oliver Stone in conversation

When’s it on? Thursday 12 November, 19:00, BFI YouTube

For the last 4 decades Oliver Stone has established himself as one of Hollywood’s preeminent iconoclasts – a filmmaker who has questioned the legitimacy of established historical narratives and examined the role of power in political and popular culture. With the publication of his new book Chasing the Light, Stone has turned his focus towards his own life. His compelling memoir charts the story of his parents and his own life, from a youth divided between France and the US, to the night he walked on stage at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion to accept the best director Oscar for Platoon. In this event, writer Ian Haydn Smith talks to Stone about his compelling career.

Thanks to Octopus books we have signed copies of Oliver Stone’s new book Chasing the Light available now at the BFI Shop. For a limited time we’re also giving you £5 off the cover price while stocks last. Just go to www.bfi.org.uk/shop  and use the code STONE5 at checkout.
