A snapshot of my favorite films in 2022 more than anything, I veered away from including films that I thought might be on this list. What I wasn't able to include hurts more than anything: the films of John Ford, Jean Vigo, Jia Zhangke, Ken Jacobs, Djibril Diop Mambéty, Eric Rohmer, Jean Eustache, Edward Yang, Douglas Sirk, Stephanie Rothman, Chris Marker, and so many more, mean the world to me.
