Alec Christie on The Children of Green Knowe

An orphaned boy is sent for a festive stint with his eccentric grandmother but soon realises things are not what they seem. Screened in 1986 but never released on DVD this charming and mystical tale receives a thorough introduction from cast member and chief protagonist Alec Christie. On the occasion of it's screening as part of popular BFI Southbank strand The Flipside, Christie discusses how he was first cast for the role of the orphan Tolly, his experiences as a child actor in the film industry and the ingenious ways that special effects were created before the advent of CGI technology.
