44 Inch Chest + Q&A

When his wife leaves him for a younger man, devastated Colin turns to his friends for support. This motley crew of middle-aged men provide the focus for Malcolm Venville's study of masculinity in all its flawed glory. In this post screening discussion chaired by London Film Festival Artistic Director Sandra Hebron, we learn the significance of the film’s title from writer David Scinto, and explore his propensity to portray often extreme violence. Cast member John Hurt is on hand to highlight the appeal of Scinto’s writing and the ease with which it was vividly brought to the life by the cast, whilst star Ray Winstone discusses why the film and script resonated with him personally.
