It is an exciting time for South African cinema - with funding available for film projects and an increasing number of film theaters around the country, there has been a substantial rise in the number of filmmakers and audiences creating and enjoying films. As part of the BFI Southbank season, South African Cinema, we are joined by South African director Michael Raeburn, writer Peter Speyer, Dr Lindiwe Dovey and season curator Trevor Taylor for an exciting and in depth discussion about the state of South African Cinema. Through their anecdotes we gain an insight into the history of cinema within their nation and into its current condition.
