Jane B par Agnès V + Q&A

French director Agnès Varda took to the BFI Southbank stage several times during a season of her films in May 2010, here following a screening of Jane B Par Agnès V. In this interview Varda recollects her first experiences as a photographer, fondly recollecting the value placed on the image when opportunities to have your portrait taken were far and few between, and each photograph was cherished as a result. Recognising the close relationship between photography and film she goes on to explore her film Jane B Par Agnès V, explaining how the collaboration with Jane Birkin originated. Finally she talks about her presence within her films, as a way of connecting the audience with the author behind the camera.
