The South Bank Show Revisited + Melvyn Bragg In Conversation

On May 26th 2010, the final episode of The South Bank Show was screened at BFI Southbank, which was followed by on stage discussion with Melvyn Bragg. In discussion with Mark Lawson, Bragg outlines how the South Bank Show came about, and how having been brought in by John Bird and Nick Elliott, they took on the initial proposition and ran with it. What ensued was a profoundly successful arts program, that brought high art and pop culture to a mass audience. Bragg regales the audience with a myriad of anecdotes, including memories of being directed by Bergman, and turned down by Beckett.
