May 33rd + Q&A

As part of the BFI Southbank season Second Coming: The Rebirth of TV Drama, Mark Duguid is joined on stage by the writer and lead actor in May 33rd, a powerful and poignant story of a woman grappling with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), which was based on a number of true accounts. Here Guy Hibbert discusses how he came to write the script, highlighting the importance of using film and TV to bring to light issues needing society's attention, such as mental health. Star Lia Williams goes on to discuss her involvement, as well as the difficulty in playing such a sensitive character, emphasising the importance of research.
