Brighton Rock + Q and A

Scriptwriter and director Rowan Joffe and actor Andrea Riseborough join host Adrian Wootton at BFI Southbank following a preview of Brighton Rock. Joffe addresses the issue of trying to adapt the novel for his feature directorial debut without stripping away the layers of Graham Greene's original text, as well as describing, with Riseborough, the differences between creating film and television. Joffe also gives an amusing account of his first meeting with Helen Mirren regarding the role of Ida, and acknowledges that Mirren was critical in getting his adaptation green lit as well as a source of confidence in production.
